Clayver Wine Pots Used in Cosmetic Production

CLAYVER, THE INTELLIGENT WINE POT BECOMES AN ALLY FOR COSMETICS PRODUCTION

Clayver has surprised more than a few wine producers.
The market grows with a +78% rate and opens up to new possibilities

Created in 2014, Clayver has made a big hit in the wine market. Having landed producers such as Tarlant and and Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion after impressive results during comparative ageing trials, Clayver lands in US where it will be used for wine and even cosmetic products.

Clayver is an innovative stoneware round egg conceived for fermentation, vinification and wine ageing. Inspired by clay amphoras, Clayver inventors wanted to go beyond mechanical resistance and impermeability. What makes a difference with traditional amphoras is shape and material.

If wine is Clayver's intended use, it is not the only one. Cosmetics companies too have become interested in Clayver for the production of natural body and face lotions. Clayver in particular will be used for the maceration process of roots, flowers and fruits. Being made of an inert material, Clayver prevents any loss of matter from the container, thus allowing to achieve a 100% natural product.

Clayver’s round shape allows pots to keep the flower, root and fruit cap moist, helping color and flavor extraction. Wall thickness guarantees thermal inertia – a key factor for maceration – and a uniform, three-dimensional oxygen exchange concerning the smallest possible surface area. Grès porcelain is resistant, isolating and easy to sterilize and is safe for handling food – Clayver is certified for use in foodstuffs.

Clayver has now 150 customers all over the world, with a +37% growth rate in the numbers of customers and a +78% in the amount of pieces ordered from 2016. It is now available in 2 different sizes: 250 and 400 litres.

Naked and Not Afraid!

I went naked today. No, I wasn't on "Naked and Afraid" nor was I on a questionable PETA campaign.  Actually I was only naked from the neck up.

Today was the annual Rodan + Fields #RFGoNaked Day where the creators of Proactiv and the new Rodan + Fields Dermatologists line of anti-aging skincare donated $1 to help empower disadvantaged youth for every selfie posted on social without makeup on social media with the hashtag #RFGoNaked.

Makeup-Free Skin Is Healthier Skin

The doctors believe makeup-free skin is healthier and can be as attractive if not more so without foundation and cosmetics. To prove their point they encourage women to go makeup free for one day and share their selfies. And to top it off, they donate $1 to help educate young people for each one posted with the #RFGoNaked hashtag. Last year they donated several hundred thousands to help young people.

Go Without Foundation for a Good Cause

It's not too late! The RF team will be counting hashtags until midnight tonight Pacific time. So go ahead--go naked and make your selfie count!

Fashion and History Collide at Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times

Cheekwood Botanical Gardens is hosting the lavish Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times exhibit, and it will appeal to fashion lovers and history buffs alike, as well as fans of the popular television series.

The beautiful costumes are displayed in the historic rooms of Cheekwood Mansion which has been restored to its glory days in the 1930s. Guides make sure visitors learn about the fabrics and embellishments used in the historically accurate fashions worn on the show. Changing hemlines are noted as well as tapering skirts and dropped or raised waists.

In addition to the garments, there are enlarged photos from "Downton Abbey" hanging on the walls. These photographs are often paired with photos of the Cheek family in similar garments which gives the display a distinctly Nashville flavor and neatly ties the fashions into the history of the mansion.

Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times runs from June 17 through September 10, 2017 at Cheekwood Mansion in the Belle Meade area of Nashville.

For more information about Dressing Downton or the Cheekwood Mansion restoration, visit cheekwood.org.

Top Four Things to Know About Natural Beauty Products

The Natural beauty business is booming and has become a big industry with deep pockets and its own spin machine. Natural product pushers are quick to point the finger at the beauty industry by claiming it is unregulated and not FDA approved. Did you know this also means natural beauty products are not regulated nor are they FDA approved in most cases?

The fact is the beauty industry is self regulated with its own rules, watchdogs and organizations. And many beauty products ARE in fact FDA tested and approved. Any products that are classified as PREMIUM skincare have been approved by the FDA, so don't fall for the hype from the big all-natural industry.

And while  natural beauty products usually don't contain irritants, they often fall short in other ways.

Here are 4 important things to know about Natural Beauty Products

1. Natural products are a good way to maintain healthy, young skin since they aren't supposed to use harsh chemicals. It is always best to read the labels because they do sometimes use ingredients that can irritate the skin. They won't do much for the skin since their molecules are usually too large to pass through the skin's protective barrier, but they typically shouldn't hurt the skin, either.

2. Many people are allergic to natural ingredients because people can be allergic to anything including aloe vera, chamomile, and other harmless-sounding ingredients

3. Natural ingredients can enhance and supplement a good skincare product but they rarely--if ever--can match the results and health benefits of using a well researched and tested clinical skincare product is always best to read the labels because they do sometimes us ingredients that can irritate skin.

4. Natural beauty products are not regulated and often get by with making claims there is no clinical proof for.

So if you have an all-natural skincare product you just love, by all means enjoy it. It probably won't hurt your skin but it probably won't change it much epithet. But a good question to ask yourself is this: when you you look at photos from a year ago, has your natural product made a big difference in your skin?

If you want to really change your skin and make it healthier, you might have to dig a little deeper.
