Advances in skin care: fractal laser resurfacing and derma rollers

For the past 30 years, while there have been some advances and refinements in skin care, many lotions and treatments have only been somewhat improved. The introduction of products containing tretinoin/retinol has helped skin produce new cells for the past 30 years. Chemical peels and microdermabrasion soon followed to remove the top payer of skin. Cosmetic surgery has provided a more invasive way to remove sagging skin, and more recently Botox has come along to paralyze the muscles of the face to reduce wrinkles. The recent advent of fractal laser resurfacing and derma rollers has introduced skin care to less invasive forms of skin resurfacing.
