I love Ren Fests: the music, the costumes, the entertainment, the shopping and the food. I go to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival every year.
Ren fests take place around the country in every season of the year. In the Nashville area, the Tennessee Renaissance Festival takes place every weekend in May plus Memorial Day giving Middle Tennesseans many opportunities to enjoy a wide assortment of Renaissance, Medieval, pirate and fantasy fashions.
While the costumes worn by the paid cast at each ren faire are typically historically accurate for the Renaissance time period and place selected for each festival, "playtrons" -- paying guests who dress up -- always show up in colorful and imaginative costumes.
